New Delhi, July 5, 2025: The Indian Navy has released the official notification for the recruitment of Agniveer (MR – Musician) for the 02/2025 Batch. This special entry is open for unmarried male and female candidates who have a passion for music and meet the educational and musical qualifications. The online application process has started on July 5, 2025, and will remain open until July 13, 2025.

This recruitment is part of the Agnipath Scheme introduced by the Government of India, offering candidates an opportunity to serve the nation for a period of four years in the Indian Armed Forces, with a structured exit and career support mechanism after completion of the tenure.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification:

• Candidates must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) from a recognized board.
• A minimum of 50% marks is required in Class 10.
• A proficiency certificate in music from a recognized institute or teacher is mandatory.

Musical Skills Required:

Applicants should be skilled in instrumental music. They should be able to play one or more musical instruments and be capable of performing as a solo artist or as part of a group. Knowledge of western notation, staff notation, and the ability to play various musical pieces will be an added advantage.

Age & Marital Status

• Only unmarried male and female candidates can apply.
• The candidate must be born between November 1, 2004, and April 30, 2008 (both dates inclusive).

Selection Process

The selection of Agniveer (MR – Musician) will be based on:

1. Preliminary Screening – Verification of documents and musical ability.
2. Music Screening Test – Performance on musical instruments as per Navy standards.
3. Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
• 1.6 km run in 6:30 minutes
• 20 squats (Uthak Baithak)
• 10 push-ups (for male) / Modified push-ups (for female)
4. Medical Examination – Candidates will be medically examined by authorized military doctors.

Salary and Benefits

• Monthly package starting at ₹30,000, with additional allowances for risk, hardship, dress, and travel.
• After completing 4 years of service, Agniveers will receive a Seva Nidhi package of approximately ₹11.71 lakh, exempt from income tax.
• Agniveers will be provided life insurance cover of ₹48 lakhs during the tenure.
