The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Yojana continues to serve as a crucial support system for India’s small and marginal farmers. As of June 24, 2025, farmers across the country are eagerly awaiting the 20th installment of ₹2,000, which is part of the annual ₹6,000 benefit provided under this flagship central government scheme.
While the government has not yet officially confirmed the disbursement date, all signs suggest that the 20th installment is likely to be credited by the end of June 2025. With the previous installment released in February, expectations are high that the funds will soon reach the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.
What Is PM-Kisan Yojana?
Launched in December 2018, PM-Kisan is a 100% centrally funded scheme aimed at supporting farmers with direct income support. Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually, distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months.
Till now, 19 installments have been successfully transferred to the beneficiaries' bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
When Is the 20th Installment Expected?
As per recent news reports and government sources, the 20th installment is tentatively scheduled for release around June 20–30, 2025. However, the final date has not been confirmed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
In the previous cycle, the 19th installment was released on February 24, 2025, benefitting around 9.8 crore farmers.
Important Tasks Farmers Must Complete
To ensure timely receipt of the 20th installment, farmers are urged to complete the following steps:
1. e-KYC Completion
The government has made e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) mandatory for all beneficiaries. There are three ways to complete this:
· Online OTP-based KYC via pmkisan.gov.in
· Biometric KYC at your nearest CSC (Common Service Centre)
· Face authentication through the PM-Kisan Mobile App
Failure to complete e-KYC will result in your name being removed from the beneficiary list.
2. Aadhaar–Bank Linking
Ensure your Aadhaar number is correctly linked with your bank account and that the name matches exactly in both records.
3. Verification of Land Records
Your land ownership documents should be updated and verified with your state’s agricultural department. Ineligible or unverified landowners may be excluded from the scheme.

How Many Farmers Will Benefit?
According to government estimates, over 9.8 to 9.9 crore farmers are likely to receive the 20th installment. However, incomplete KYC or incorrect bank details can lead to payment failures.
In previous cycles, lakhs of farmers were excluded due to data mismatches, Aadhaar errors, or failure to update land ownership records.
